The Delia Derbyshire production of the Doctor Who theme marked a significant milestone in the nascent field of electronic music (read about the history of the theme at Mark Ayres' website). This site was created in 2003 (for the 40th anniversary of Doctor Who) to pay tribute to that milestone by providing a forum for the sharing of freely distributable amateur (ie, non-commissioned and non-profit; pros are welcome!) remixes, electronic or acoustic, faithful or pisstakes, of Ron Grainer and Delia Derbyshire's influential and timeless theme.

Would-be remixers are invited to encode their remixes as mp3s (preferrably at 128kbps - 192kbps) and email them to whomix _ submissions [at] trile te.net for inclusion on this site. Processing of submissions may unfortunately take a while, so please be patient and/or email me again if things seem to be stalled. Please name the file as "Doctor_Who_-_[REMIXNAME]" where [REMIXNAME] is the name of your remix. Do not use anything but standard ASCII text characters in the file name (normally parenthesis are ok, but stay away from square or angle brackets) and use underscores "_" in place of spaces. Finally, please fill in your mp3's ID3v1/ID3v2 tags with your name, the song's name and with the album set to "whomix.trilete.net" so that people with tag-reading software or portable players will be easily able to group all whomixes together. Please include the keyword "whomix" in your email subject to ensure that your message doesn't get classified as junk by the spam filters. Note that no remix will be included unless it is submitted by its creator or with its creator's expressed permission. Remixes that are obviously incomplete (e.g., end abrubtly in a bad way) are also unlikely to be included. Feedback, criticism and suggestions about the site are gratefully received in the guestbook.
