This is basicly an update of the original Trial Of A Time Rat, exept I've
completely rerecorded it in a different way; rather than recording all the
tracks at the same time, and adding extras afterwards, I recorded the bass,
then the middle-8, then the main melody then I put all of these together.
Sorry no lengthy technical details and everything on this one! |

another hit from the Rat, It reminds me of the theme used on the antique who show from the intros to the planet of the daleks rerun, the sparkels/spangles are nice, I like it.

Oh cool! It really gives me a feeling of the Vervoids and Sil, and dont forget Drathro!

Fantastic! Brilliant! Amazing! Great! Good! Awesome!

Well I'm happy, hail to the rat!! How long did it take you to make this?
It really does remind me of the great almighty Trial of a Timelord.

Sorry that the remix is so quiet! It was either that or distortion!
- Rat Souffle (2006.05.06 12:02)
An improvement on the original which I remember you had great difficulty with. The mid-section and ending are now better fleshed out. A good mix, but I sense that the Glynn theme has the potential to be pushed even further toward greatness.

It is an improvement over the first. These quiet remixes are really not what I prefer, but that's probably because I lack any true sense of what is good music. But it's a nice sound. I wrote a piece of 3rd Doc fanfic about a sinister dentist who puts his patients in a dangerous dreamworld when they go under the gas, and this music would be great background music for Liz Shaw sitting in the dentist's chair waiting for him to come in. Kind of a dreamy feel to it. You have done other things that I like more, but this is fine. And it didn't sound too quiet to me in terms of sound level (ie volume)
- jeriwho (2006.05.07 09:57)
I admit, it is rather quiet, but it definetly has Colin Bakers face stuck all over it :-) The bass line is pretty perfect, I just think more substance could be added to the track now.
Great remix, and keep up the good work!

I must admit that the TOTL theme would prove very difficult to remake. If i had all the necessary equipment I would definitely give it a go.

Could anyone reccomend me some multitrack synth software in the region of £1-£120 that you don't have to order online? Because cubasis is looking really dated and it's limiting my "creative abilities" whatever that is. Thanks!

Really good!
Well done again Rat Soufflé another well pu ttoegther remix.
Keep em coming! ;)
- God (2006.05.18 11:44)
FINALLY! SOME GOOOOD STUFF! THIS IS A LOT BETTER THAN ANYTHING!
- EGGY ROLL (2006.05.18 11:45)
Soft, undeerstated and with a really fantastic light and delicate touch that makes this a really good piece. I do like the bass line of this version whereas I hated the TOTL bassline as (and I have said this before) to me it sounded like the bass notes had been made by slapping a wet kipper against a wardrobe.
9/10 easily
- Hulahoop (2006.05.24 08:08)
This mix kind of reminds me of the Peter Davison/Colin Baker era, has that kind of magical essence to the theme, that sounds a little like some of the incidental music throught the peter davison, colin era! Great mix, thought the middle 8 trumpet type sound was a little dry, perhaps a little reverb would have been nice there. Other than that a great mix.
- Chris Rice (2006.05.24 12:21)
Put that as the theme to the Trial Of A Time LOrd episodes an it would be brilliant... I certainly preferd it over the Trial Of A Time Lord theme.
- Ross (2006.06.10 05:52)
very nice little version of the Dr Who theme here
Has to be a B and 7 out of 10
- etlcstn (2006.11.16 13:36)
Too pretty. I think the original is of better quality, and especially feeling. This is more milquetoast than anything.
- conceerned-US (2007.11.15 23:04)
I like it! The only thing I don't like much is the instrument that was used for the first and second parts of the melody. It would also have been nice if you redid Glynn's sting and explosion effects for the beginning and end. But that's alright. It's still amazing!
