I was hoping to be able to go back to the masters of my music and remix them a bit for you, but I can't find them right now, so I'll send an existing mix instead.

This first track is a called "Breakbeats in Time and Space" and is a dance-y version of the theme, with some funny (I thought) samples from a Blue Peter phone-in. All the music is made from scratch using my PC, a Yamaha AN1X and the Hammerhead drum looper. I think I got as close to the original "wooo" sound as I could without having racks of wall mounted valve oscillators! There is a small melancholy intro, done in a similar style to 70s Pink Floyd. The only samples I've used are one of the TARDIS and the phone call, obviously.

A 12" version of this mix, without the vocal samples, can be found here.

Great! Real scary and a good dance beat, making a surreal effect.

Good beats. I would eq the voice samples to fit in the mix better
- Destron (2004.09.27 20:46)

Always liked this mix, and always wanted it with out the voice track,
you said youd mix it that way if enough folks asked, well we're asking ']['
- ']['arQuin (2004.09.29 07:42)

Hey Tarquin, I did do that mix already, and it was actually given to DAMFilms for one of their productions. As I mentioned, however, I've mislaid the masters so I'm unable to recreate the mix again for this site. One day they'll reappear and then I'll do it! :-)
- FloorTen (Howard) (2004.09.29 11:36)

I have the 12-inch remix of the music in question, if anyone is interested...
- Me (2004.09.30 00:04)

If Howard at Floorten ok's it then please include the 12-inch remix on this site! I'd love to hear it. Love this theme!
- neil c (2004.09.30 10:04)

By all means! Please email it to me and I'll submit it. Thanks!
- FloorTen (Howard)) (2004.09.30 17:13)

I brilliant blend of 60's melody line and modern dance! Personally (like others) I'd like to hear the mix without the sampled vocals. This has a certain 'grittiness' and power that I'd like the new series theme to have.
- Pete. (2004.10.01 12:01)

loved it!
- Adam Manning (2004.10.04 11:59)

Totally excellent!!!!!!!!!! heard the 12" version today. It was better than I imagined! really do love this version of the theme! thanks floorten!

It brings back old memories hearing this, both with voice and without. I love this theme from Howard. Then again I've quite liked all his themes.
- David Nagel [DAM Films] (2004.10.08 06:24)

Never heard this without the voice samples, Howard, and it's still really lovely. That slow, Pink Floydy intro always sexes me up!
- Peter Wicks (2004.10.08 09:39)

Roast my Toast! That theme is one mad hap'nin beat, yo! Word up! It's round the bend and out the other end!! Swish!
- Daniel Burnett (2004.10.08 22:53)

I think the bass is just what the new series is looking for. If the melody was spiced up just a little bit more it would be my choice for DW05
- Deanstructor (2004.11.30 11:42)

Nice!

Very good

Absolutetly delicious. Not overcluttered, but thoroughly entertaining.
